Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which prevents a wrong sensing for the lack of an ink from occurring, and at the same time, can prevent a poor recording resulting from the lack of the ink from being generated. SOLUTION: This ink cartridge 10 has an ink bag 11 which stores an ink 12, and a case 13 which houses the ink bag 11. The ink bag 11 is deformable in such a manner that one surface and the other surface come close to each other accompanying the consumption of the ink 12 which is stored inside. In the ink bag 11, an air bag 15 which stores air is arranged on one surface, and a needle 16 is arranged at a position on the other surface facing the air bag 15 under a state in which the distal end section faces the air bag 15.
