Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of quantatively analyzing the content of hexavalent chromium in a stage of organic coating before applied to a steel panel. SOLUTION: The method of analyzing hexavalent chromium in the organic coating has a pretreatment process 1 for adding an organic solvent to the organic coating, an extraction process 2 for further adding an aqueous solution to the organic coating, to which the organic solvent is added, not only to separate a water layer from the hexavalent chromium but also to extract hexavalent chromium in the water layer, and an analyzing process 3 for analyzing chromium ions in the water layer in which hexavalent chromium is extracted.
