Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw compressor having an inexpensive and space-saving shaft seal construction on a discharge side of a rotor shaft. SOLUTION: The screw compressor 1 compresses target gas by screw rotors 4 contained in a rotor chamber 3 and meshed with each other. In the screw compressor, a non-contact seal 15 is provided between the screw rotor 4 and a discharge side bearing 11 of a rotor shaft 7 of the screw rotor 4, a lip seal 16 is provided between the non-contact seal 15 and the bearing 11 of the rotor shaft 7 and a communication passage 19 is provided for bringing a space 9 between the non-contact seal 15 and the lip seal 16 in communication with a space 5 of lower pressure than durable pressure of the lip seal 16.
