Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect data even when inserted or extracted into/from a device. SOLUTION: When a module of this universal memory 1 is uninstalled from an information processor or when the information processor is performed with power off, a set signal S is generated from a set signal generation part 10, a lock register 8 is set, and AND gates 91-916 are turned off. Thereby, all bits B0-B15 of data read from a memory cell array 2 become '0', and the universal memory 1 comes into a lock state that the data are protected. When the universal memory 1 in the lock state is installed to the information processor, all the data of the universal memory are reset by a reset command, a reset signal R is generated from a reset signal generation part 11, the lock register 8 is reset, and the AND gates 91-916 are turned on. Thereby, the universal memory 1 comes into a state that the lock is released. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
