Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifetime measuring device of a gear coupling capable of automatically measuring the lifetime of the gear coupling without requiring an experienced worker. SOLUTION: The lifetime measuring device comprises measuring means 30 and 32 of a backlash amount for measuring the backlash amount of the gear joint section of the gear coupling 1, a lifetime determining means 34 that calculates the increment of the backlash amount based on the measurement result of the measuring means of the backlash amount, calculates the present abrasion amount of the gear joint section based on the increment, and determines whether the gear coupling reaches the end of the lifetime by comparing the present abrasion amount with a limit abrasion amount, and a displaying means 36 for displaying the determination results of the lifetime determining means.
