Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify and facilitate the tensioning of a right root-conveying chain of a right/left root-conveying device for conveying reaped grain culms at right and left both sides to the rear upper part, and to reduce the hooking of the grain culm. SOLUTION: The chain is tensioned by pushing out from the inside to the outside a tension pulley 14a of a tensioning device 14, installed in the end terminal part of conveyance of the right root-conveying chain 10a of the right root-conveying device 10 for succeeding and conveying the grain culms at the right row side in the right and left row sides to the rear upper part by a compression spring 14b. The apparatus is constituted so that the right root-conveying chain 10a may escape at the conveyance-starting terminal side to form a nipping state, and the root-nipping lever may escape to hold the nipping state at the end terminal side of the conveyance when nipping and conveying the grain culms.
