PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide optical glass having a high refractive index capable of responding to the miniaturization and improved performance of an optical instrument and allowing the correction of color balance. SOLUTION: The optical glass has a borate-based composition containing TiO2as a glass component. The optical glass is obtained through the control of the kind and amount of additives or a heat treatment so as to have a transmittance characteristic satisfying formula (1): λ70≤909×(nd)2- 3009×nd + 2842, wherein λ70 represents a wavelength (nm) at which the external transmittance is 70% when the thickness of the glass is 10.0 mm.
