Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transplanter for preventing the suspension of planting operation of seedling in a state in which an operator does not expect the suspension. SOLUTION: In the transplanter which has a seedling stand placing and horizontally reciprocating seedling mats, a planting means for scraping out the seedlings from the seedling stand and planting them in a field, the reciprocation mechanism of the seedling stand and a planting clutch for connection and disconnection of power from the planting means and carries out automatic planting suspension in which the planting clutch is automatically disengaged at the right and left movement ends of the seedling stand, the controller 80 of the transplanter works both as an automatic planting suspension means and an automatic suspension control means, has a mode switch 20 for starting the operation of the automatic planting suspension means and a seedling shortage sensor 81 for detecting that the amount of seedlings on the seedling stand is a fixed amount or below and makes the operation of the automatic planting suspension means based on the mode switch 20 effective only in a state in which the seedling shortage sensor 81 detects seedling shortage.
