Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricant applicator capable of preventing coating unevenness of a lubricant, reliably scraping the lubricant and reliably protecting the surface to be coated. SOLUTION: A photoreceptor 510 is developed by a developing device 530 after charging and exposure, transfer is performed by a transfer device 540 and, thereafter, residual toner on the photoreceptor is eliminated by a cleaning device 560. A brush roller 571 brushes the surface of the photoreceptor while brushing one surface of a solid lubricant 572 and applies the lubricant onto the photoreceptor surface. The lubricant applied onto the photoreceptor surface reduces coating unevenness with a flattening member 574. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
