Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing dust with which pre-reduced dust can be used without lowering the productivity of the molten iron, in a refining method with a converter for preliminarily reducing the dust produced in converters as raw material for molten iron, in the case of obtaining molten steel by using a converter exclusive for melting and a converter exclusive for refining while using a solid iron-containing cold material as a raw material. SOLUTION: A method for utilizing the dust in a steelmaking in the converter includes: arranging the converter exclusive for the melting of the preliminarily reduced dust (the second converter 9 exclusive for the melting) besides the first converter 1 exclusive for the melting; melting the iron-containing cold material with the first converter 1, in which seed molten iron is present; melting the preliminarily reduced dust with the second converter 9, in which seed molten iron is present; obtaining molten steel having prescribed composition by refining with oxygen-blowing in the converter 3 exclusive for the refining while using the obtained molten high-carbon iron as the raw material; including carboneceous material into the dusts produced in the converter 1 and the converter 3 and agglomerating it; and supplying the preliminarily reduced dust by performing the preliminary reduction while using the included carbonaceous material as the reducing material by heating to the high temperature with a pre-reducing furnace 8.
