Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a micrometer and a finger hooking member for the micrometer allowing to improve the working efficiency of an operator. SOLUTION: The micrometer comprises a U-shaped body frame 1, an anvil 2 provided on one end of the body frame 1, and a spindle 3 which is supported on the other end of the body frame 1 so that it can move toward and away from the anvil 2 and can move in the axial direction and allows the amount of movement of the spindle 3 to be read from one side of the body frame 1. The micrometer is provided with a finger hooking part 51 which is farther from the anvil than the protruded end of the spindle 3 and is on the side opposite to the side allowing the amount of movement of the spindle 3 to be read.
