Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric double-layer capacitor where a positive electrode carbon material and a negative electrode carbon material are provided with a channel and divided portion at the approximately same position in the lengthwise direction. SOLUTION: The electric double-layer capacitor is composed of an element where a positive electrode sheet made up of a positive electrode collector provided with a through-hole and a positive electrode carbon material located on its surface, and a negative electrode sheet made up of a negative electrode collector provided with a through-hole and a negative electrode carbon material located on its surface, are wound or layered through a separator. In order to allow lithium to be absorbed into the negative electrode carbon material in advance after winding or layering the element, the movement of lithium into the wound inside of the element is made easy.
