Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform operation to fix a rear cover in a prescribed rotated position by one person in a rotary tilling apparatus axially supporting the rear cover at the rear of a rotary cover covering the upper part of tillage tines so as to be vertically rotatable. SOLUTION: The rotary tilling apparatus is obtained as follows. The rear cover 20 is axially supported at the rear of the rotary cover 16 so as to be vertically rotatable and the rear cover 20 is hung through hanging rods 23 and 23 mounted on brackets 21 fixed on the side of the rotary cover 16. A locking means 41 operable in cooperation with a locking lever 39 so that the rear cover 20 can be fixed in the prescribed rotated position is installed and an operation regulating mechanism A for temporarily delaying the operation of the locking means 41 to the locking side of the rear cover 20 relatively to the operation of the locking lever 39 is composed by using an oil damper 43.
