Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven fabric for papermaking capable of efficiently producing a paper excellent in surface properties by improving smoothness as the woven fabric for papermaking and having properties excellent in strength and abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: The woven fabric 10 for papermaking comprises a pair of warps 11 and 12 and papermaking surface side weft 13 and a traveling surface side weft 14, and a pair of two warps 11 and 12 alternately appears on the papermaking side and the traveling surface side, and on the papermaking surface side, the warp is woven with papermaking surface side weft 13 to substantially form a plain structure of one papermaking surface side warp, and on the traveling surface side, the warp is woven with only either one of the traveling surface side weft 14c or 14e and the traveling surface side weft 14c or 14e is not woven with adjacent two warps.
