Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing polypropylene, without having the problem that an inactivator used in a catalyst inactivating step is mixed in the recovered monomer or solvent and the activity of the catalyst is decreased when these recoveries are reused in polymerization. SOLUTION: The method for producing polypropylene comprises a polymerization step in which homopolymerization of polypropylene or copolymerization of polypropylene with another olefin is performed by a solvent polymerization method or a bulk polymerization method in the presence of a polymerization catalyst containing an organoaluminum compound, and an inactivating step in which inactivation of the polymerization catalyst is performed, wherein a specific diol compound having ≥500 molecular weight is added as the inactivator within a range of 50-1,000 mol% based on the organoaluminum compound.
