Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide especially, an organic pigment having an absorption band corresponding to the wave length of a so called blue laser and a new organic compound easily formed as a film. SOLUTION: As the new compound of the organic pigment, 5-benzylidene-2-thioxo-thiazolidin-4-one expressed by general formula (A) is used. These derivatives all show maximum absorption wave lengths in 300-450 nm, and especially show a large absorption in the vicinity of 400 nm. The absorption characteristics correspond to the wave length of the so-called blue laser, and it is possible to apply it as a medium, etc. Also, since a compound having a substituent such as 2-ethylhexyl group, a 2-ethylhexyl ester, etc., has a good solubility to an alcohol, a ketone, etc., and a characteristic of hardly crystallizing even on forming a film by using it as the organic pigment, it has also a good physical characteristic.
