Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optimized support means end connection part. SOLUTION: This invention relates to the elevator device having the support means end connection part and support means and the method of fastening the support means in the elevator device. The support means comprises a cable or a cable strand; and a cable casing for surrounding the cable or a cable strand composite body. The support means is retained in a wedge pocket by a wedge. According to the invention, the cable casing of the support means substantially comprises a thermoplastic plastic material or an elastomer. A wedge groove in a longitudinal axis direction is provided at an area of the wedge or an area of the wedge pocket and/or a means for reducing friction coefficient is provided at an area of the support means end connection part at an area of the wedge or an area of the wedge pocket or an area of the cable casing.
