Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce oil consumption by preventing an oil in oil discharge holes from reversely flowing due to the spraying of oil in a piston of an internal combustion engine in which the oil discharge holes are formed in ring grooves. SOLUTION: This piston 10 comprises a cylindrical part having a skirt part 22 extended downward along the outer periphery of a disk-like land part 21 and a side wall part 23. The oil discharge holes 28, 29 communicating with the lower surface side of the land part 21 on the outside of the cylindrical part (area to which the oil is not sprayed) are formed in the grooves of the support ring groove 12 and the oil ring groove 13 on the outer periphery of the land part 21.
