Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus improved in its operability when adding a new function. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is capable of adding a function to the apparatus by downloading software for adding a function and installing it. It comprises: an additional function information acquisition part which acquires function information about a function that can be added to the image forming apparatus; a control panel part which displays a key displayed when the function is added, in a selectable state; and a function management part which downloads software for adding a function corresponding to the key when the key is selected, installs it, and adds the function to the apparatus.
