Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recovery method and a recovery apparatus for obtaining at least one of orthophthalic acid, phthalic anhydride and isophthalic acid from an unsaturated polyester resin (e.g. FRP). SOLUTION: In the recovery method, at least one of orthophthalic acid, phthalic anhydride and isophthalic acid is obtained by purifying a crude product, which is obtained by conducting thermolysis of the unsaturated polyester resin (e.g. FRP) and vegetable or animal oils and fats at around 300-360°C in an open-system vessel fed with nitrogen gas etc., and cooling the obtained vaporized product, or alternatively, by conducting the thermolysis at 300-360°C in a pressurized, closed-system vessel filled with nitrogen gas etc., and subsequently cooling the product.
