Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat fluorescent lamp without luminance unevenness in a light emitting surface in lighting the lamp and with a large amount of total luminous flux. SOLUTION: This flat cold cathode fluorescent lamp 1 composed of a glass tube 2 wherein a sectional shape of a discharge space is formed in an ellipse or a flat shape using at least a major axis and a minor axis is provided with an electrode 5 connected with lead-in wires 4 airtightly sealed at both tube ends of the glass tube 2. A phosphor film 3 is formed in the inner surface of the glass tube 2, and mercury and rare gases are sealed in the glass tube 2. The inner diameter dimension of the end in the major-axis direction in the discharge space in the glass tube 2 is set 0.2 mm or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
