Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a percutaneous absorption promoting composition mitigating expressing side effects, good in morphine's percutaneous absorption, and slight in skin irritancy when administered. SOLUTION: The percutaneous absorption promoting composition is obtained by including morphine in a composition that is prepared by incorporating, as necessary, an organic acid, a fatty acid ester, an aromatic ester and/or the like in a pyrrolidone derivative and a 10-18C higher fatty acid as the essential two components. This composition is such that the morphine's percutaneous absorption from the skin's keratin, via corium layer's capillary vessels and the blood vessels at the depth thereof, into the systemic circulatory system is easily improved.
