Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device which can accurately compensate variations of sensitivity. SOLUTION: An optical disk device has; a focus servo control unit having a focus detection means which detects a focal point of a beam spot based on a signal read from an optical disk through an optical pickup and a focus gain detection means which detects loop gain of a focus servoloop using this focal detection means; and a correction means which corrects relative travel rate of the beam spot and the optical disk face at layer jump time in accordance with the loop gain.
