Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, facilitating a user to easily grasp the toner recovery state. SOLUTION: In a display part of a printer, a display mode I that is a paper information screen is displayed as initial screen (S201). When the printer operates, the display part of the printer is switched to a display mode II of a recovery screen, indicating the recovery state of residual toner (S202). Accordingly, the user can recognize that the residual toner is recovered. In the recovery screen, a state with the residual toner of a photoreceptor drum being recovered and a state with the residual toner of an intermediate transfer belt being recovered are displayed on the same screen. During the operation of the printer, the display mode II is left, as it is. When the machine body stops, it is automatically switched to a display mode III of a recovery quantity display screen that indicates the quantity of the toner recovered (S204, 205).
