Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent vaporization of oil through a gap between the fuel tank and the bottomed outer case of an oil lighter and to prevent a loose fit in the gap. SOLUTION: The oil lighter has a fuel tank 7 with a flint 1 and a striker wheel 2 at its upper end and with a fuel suction core 3 protruding over the upper end of the tank at a position where a spark produced by the flint with the rotation of the striker wheel comes in contact, and with a lower opening 4 at its lower end for filling liquid fuel, the fuel tank having liquid absorbing members 5a, 5b packed therein and infiltrated with the liquid fuel, and the fuel tank having a groove 6 around its outer wall surface for receiving a sealant in the direction perpendicular to the vertical direction; a looped hermetic sealant 8 that fits into the groove; and an outer case 10 being open at its upper end and having a bottom wall 9 at its lower end. The fuel tank 7 with the sealant 8 fitted into the groove 6 is inserted into the opening at the upper end of the outer case 10 from the lower opening 4, and the sealant 8 is compressed by the inner wall surface of the outer case.
