Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power branch unit whereby data communication is carried out by utilizing power lines and a packet delay or lost data due to routing can be suppressed. SOLUTION: Power plug receptacles 14a to 14l are connected to selectors 52a to 52l respectively via power line communication sections 51a to 51l. The selectors 52a to 52l select any of local buses 53a to 53l to be connected under the control of a controller 57. Thus, the power plug receptacles 14a to 14l can configure segments by using the local buses 53a to 53l respectively connected to the power plug receptacles 14a to 14l, and no routing by a brouter 55 is required for data communication in the same segment.
