Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more comfortable air quality environment with a ventilator, which senses the presence of a human body and its amount of activity, and controls the amount of ventilation, by having a simple configuration only with an infrared radiation sensor, sensing the amount of activity more accurately, and improving the precision to control the amount of ventilation. SOLUTION: The ventilator comprises: an infrared radiation sensor 1 to sense infrared radiation emitted from a person; an amount of activity determination means 2 to input an induced voltage of the infrared radiation sensor 1 and to determine the amount of activity from the time variation of the induced voltage input; and a ventilation amount control means 3 to calculate the increased or decreased amount of ventilation from the determined amount of activity and to control the amount of ventilation. Consequently, the ventilator can sense the amount of activity with a simple configuration and with high precision without converting information on the person's presence or without calculating a moving distance to determine the amount of activity directly from the variation of the induced voltage of the infrared radiation sensor and can obtain an effect to be configured more inexpensively.
