Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make power consumption of a display device less and to emphasize an outline without using a frame memory. SOLUTION: The display device has a display panel which has a plurality of pixels having pixel electrodes respectively and a driving circuit which supplies video signals to the pixels via video lines; and the driving circuit has an outline emphasizing circuit which generates outline-emphasized display data having an outline emphasized from externally inputted display data and emphasizes the outline part of an image to be displayed on the display panel and a memory which stores the outline-emphasized display data, and the outline emphasizing circuit has a latch circuit which stores (k) (k≥2) successive display data among display data for one display line in order and an arithmetic circuit which generates the outline-emphasized display data on the basis of the (k) display data stored in the latch circuit.
