Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep exposure constant along a vector in a method for vector-scanning a laser beam. SOLUTION: A laser beam from a laser light source is oriented to a scanner which is provided with a first mirror 146 connected to a first rotary motive device 148 for positioning the first mirror and a second mirror 147 connected to a second rotary motive device 149 for positioning the second mirror 147. The laser beam is oriented from the first mirror to the second mirror, and then to a working face. By providing commanded-position signals to each of the first and the second rotary motive devices to rotate respective mirrors, the laser beam is scanned along the vector, each mirror undergoing acceleration at the beginning and the end of the vector, wherein the commanded-position signals are calculated based on physical mathematical modeling of the acceleration of the mirrors taking into account effects of inertia of the scanning system.
