Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for detecting a prion disease containing a nucleic acid molecule targeting a PrP (prion protein), especially an RNA molecule targeting an SAF [a scrapie-associated fibril (an abnormal type prion protein-derived fibril)]. SOLUTION: The method is to identify the nucleic acid molecule binding to the SAF and separate the protein by utilizing the nucleic acid molecule. A nuclease-tolerant RNA aptamer is obtained by the method. A composition for diagnosing the prion disease containing the RNA aptamer and a pharmaceutical composition for prophylaxis or therapy of the prion disease are provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
