Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impedance control circuit capable of reducing resistance mismatching between a pull-up element and a pull-down element and to provide a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The impedance control circuit includes: an impedance detection section that generates a first output value to a detection pad connected between an external setting resistor and a pull-up transistor array in response to pull-up control code data and outputs a second output value to a resistance divider terminal connected in common between pull-up and pull-down transistor arrays; an output driver including the same transistor array as that of the impedance detection section and including a compensation unit additionally connected to the transistor array; and an impedance control section that generates pull-up and pull-down control code data by implementing comparison and counting operations so that the first output value and the second output value of the impedance detection section are values close to a set reference value.
