Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an imaging apparatus in which both the addition of pixels and the switching of sensitivity can be carried out. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus arranged with a plurality of pixels two-dimensionally comprises a means for switching a resolution, a means for forming a combination unit from a plurality of pixels, a means for determining the required sensitivity of each combination unit, and a means for switching the sensitivity of each combination unit based on the determination result of required sensitivity.
