Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for production with which the production of by-products is suppressed to continuously afford the objective dithiosulfate compound in good yield when the dithiosulfate compound is produced by reacting a dihalogen compound with an alkali metal thiosulfate in an aqueous organic medium used as a reaction medium. SOLUTION: The dihalogen compound is reacted with the alkali metal thiosulfate in the aqueous organic medium used as the reaction medium to produce the dithiosulfate compound.
