Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for retaining paper which holds down rising and creasing of a sheet conveyed onto a paper feed plate and transfers the sheet properly to a printing cylinder in a sheet-feed press. SOLUTION: A first support lever 135 supporting a first retaining member 103 and a second support lever 230 supporting a second retaining member 203 are provided on the same axis, and the sheet W conveyed onto the paper feed plate P is retained at required timing by the first retaining member 103 and the second retaining member 203 advancing and retreating independently of each other.
