Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator type storage device capable of inhibiting a storage rack from catching a foreign substance when the storage rack is lowered. SOLUTION: The elevator type storage device 100 comprises a drain rack 2 disposed inside an opening 5 for elevation formed in part of a counter top 1a of a kitchen floor cabinet 1, and an elevating mechanism 6 to lower the drain rack 2 into the storage space 14 under the counter 1a and raise the drain rack 2 above the counter top 1a. The elevator type storage device 100 also has a control box 32 for controlling the drain rack 2 (the storage rack) to continuously descend starting as a descendance switch 7c of a switch panel 7 is pressed and to temporarily stop when the part under a top panel counter 4 of the drain rack 2 is lowered to a position higher than the opening 5 for elevation by a prescribed distance d (approximately 100 mm).
