Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the rotor of a rotary electric machine having a magnet arranged on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor core and a cover member surrounding the magnet in which formation of the cover member is facilitated and fixing force of the magnet is enhanced. SOLUTION: As a cover member surrounding a magnet 13, a tubular cover 14 and a pair of end plates closing the opposite openings of the tubular cover 14 in the axial direction are provided. Each end plate is provided with a protrusion 15c abutting against the magnet 13 and secured to a rotating shaft 11 such that the abutting face 15d of the protrusion 15c is pressed against the corresponding part of the circumferential end portion 13a of the magnet 13. The abutting face 15d of the protrusion 15c is formed by the rotor core 12 side, and such bevels as the axial and circumferential pressing forces of the rotor core 12 are produced in the magnet 13.
