Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat accumulation type air conditioner capable of performing minimal and economical operation. SOLUTION: This heat accumulation type air conditioner is provided with a cooling means, which is constructed of a heat storage tank 11, a second pressure reducing mechanism 8, an evaporator 9, and a refrigerant pump 7 and performs cooling operation by means of cold energy in the heat storage tank 11, a residual ice detection means 12 determining presence/absence of ice stored in the heat storage tank 11, and a cold accumulation control means 14. The cold accumulation control means 14 carries out cold accumulation operation for a predetermined time when it is detected that an accumulated thermal medium temperature just after cold radiation operation is a predetermined value or more by means of the residual ice detection means 12. When it is detected that the accumulated thermal medium temperature is the predetermined temperature or less, the cold accumulation control means 14 calculates an integrated cold radiation time from the previous cold accumulation operation end time to the current cold accumulation start time, determines a ratio of a melted ice amount to a maximum cold accumulation amount of the heat storage tank 11, sets a cold accumulation operation time set in compliance with the melted ice amount, and performs cold accumulation operation from the start time decided based on the cold accumulation time, a heat radiation operation time zone, and a predetermined time zone.
