Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wire rolling method capable of consistently realizing the high dimensional accuracy by preventing surface flaw and cobble of a rolled product when a final rolling mill is arranged on a second stage side of a finish rolling mill to roll a wire in order to enhance the dimensional accuracy of the product. SOLUTION: In a wire rolling line comprising a sizing mill as a final finish rolling mill 5 on the second stage side of a finish rolling mill (a block mill) 4, the roll gap of the finish rolling mill 4 or a first stage side rolling mill 3b of the finish rolling mill 4 is adjusted by measuring the speeds V0and V1of a work 11 to be rolled on the inlet side and the outlet side by laser Doppler velocimeters 10a, 10b so that the speed ratio V1/V0is kept constant between the works using the same finish hole die, and the fluctuation of the reduction rate of area is suppressed in the final finish rolling mill 5. The vibration of the work 11 in the final finish rolling mill 5 can be prevented, and generation of surface flaws and cobbles associated with the vibration can be avoided.
