Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction filter filtering medium capable of exhibiting an excellent cleaning resistance characteristic, and its using method. SOLUTION: The suction filter filtering medium 4 includes a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) porous film 1; a gas-permeable protection film 3 arranged on on main surface side of the PTFE porous film; and a pre-filter film 2 arranged between the PTFE porous film and the gas-permeable protection film. In the suction filter filtering medium 4, the main surface of the gas-permeable protection film 3 is exposed, a fiber diameter of the gas-permeable protection film 3 is larger than 15 μm and a fiber diameter of the pre-filter film is in a range of 0.2 μm to 15 μm. Further, the suction filter filtering medium 4 is used such that the gas-permeable protection film is arranged in the most upstream side relative to a gas stream passing through the suction filter filtering medium.
