PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laminate for an HDD read write cable which simplifies a troublesome process for working a micro-HDD read write cable and is suitable for an inexpensive working method and a method for producing the HDD read write cable using the laminate. SOLUTION: The laminate is composed of a stainless steel layer, an insulating resin layer, and a conductor layer. In the laminate for the HDD read write cable, the stainless steel layer has a thickness of 30-500 μm, a modulus of elasticity of 150-500 GPa, and tensile strength of 400-2,000 N/mm2. In the method for producing the HDD read write cable, the conductor layer of the laminate is circuit-worked, and the stainless steel layer is removed while a part necessary as a support is left to produce the HDD read write cable.
