Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trocar obturator, which is a trocar assembly used as a surgical instrument used to gain access to the body cavity, including a trocar sleeve composed of a trocar housing and a trocar cannula and a trocar obturator. SOLUTION: This trocar obturator 14 includes a shaft having a proximal end and a distal end. The shaft further includes an outer surface part. A tip member is secured to the distal end of the shaft, and the tip member includes a first end, a second end and an outer surface part. A key type connecting structure connects the tip member to the shaft, the shaft adjacent to the tip member is tapered up to the diameter of the surface having the substantially same spread as the outer surface part of the tip member, and the tip member adjacent to the shaft is tapered up to the diameter of the surface having the substantially same spread as the outer surface part of the shaft.
