Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable projecting/receiving collimated light simply and accurately and improving an optical coupling efficiency of an optical multiplexer/demultiplexer for multiplexing or demultiplexing the light using optical fibers and an optical filter. SOLUTION: The optical multiplexer/demultiplexer comprises: optical fibers 21a to 21f; collimator lenses 22a to 22f for collimating the light made to exit from the optical fibers 21a to 21f; a wavelength selecting filter 31a for multiplexing or demultiplexing the light; and a bench 5 for holding these optical fibers 21a to 21f, collimator lenses 22a to 22f, and wavelength selecting filter 31a. A support member 32 for supporting the wavelength selecting filter 31a is provided with a position alignment mirror 33 for aligning the optical fibers 21a to 21f with the collimator lenses 22a to 22f. The optical fibers 21a to 21f and the collimator lenses 22a to 22f are mounted on a unit substrate 23 to constitute a light projecting/receiving unit 2, and this light projecting/receiving unit 2 is mounted on the bench 5.
