Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image-processing method and device which can improve face extraction performance and density correction performance by extracting a face without using color information. SOLUTION: The image-processing method has; a face extraction processing process which extracts the face area of a person, who is photographed in a color image, by using characteristic quantity relating to a density gradient of the color image; and a density correction process which corrects the density of the color image so that the density of the extracted face area may be in a prescribed range of density.
