Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of suppressing cases wherein toner images become remarkably large in superposition deviation owing to phase shifts of rotation among respective photoreceptor gears 101Y, M, C, and K in continuous printing operation while suppressing superposition position shifts of the toner images due to relative shifts in formation position of the toner images among a plurality of photoreceptor 1Y, M, C, and K. SOLUTION: In speed setting processing wherein quantities of relative position shifts of designated reference toner images formed on the photoreceptors 1Y, M, C, and K in designated timing are calculated based upon when a toner image detection sensor detects the respective reference toner images after the reference toner images are formed and transferred to an intermediate transfer belt 8, and driving speeds of the respective photoreceptors are individually set according to the calculation results, the driving speeds of the respective photoreceptors are individually set within a range wherein driving speed differences of the respective photoreceptors are kept below a designated upper-limit value.
