Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a hydraulic boring machine for iron tapping hole with which the boring of the iron tapping hole in a blast furnace can surely be detected. SOLUTION: In the method for controlling the hydraulic boring machine for iron tapping hole, performing the boring of the iron tapping hole by combining the hitting, rotating and feeding of a rod; after detecting anyone or the combination of several items, in which the feeding pressure of the rod is risen up at not less than a prescribed pressure and the feeding advancing speed of the rod is risen up to a prescribed speed; the boring depth of the rod becomes not less than a prescribed distance; a drifter rotating pressure of the rod is reduced to a prescribed pressure; the number of drifter rotations of the rod becomes not less than a prescribed number of rotations; or a drifter chain tension of the rod is reduced to a prescribed tension; the rod is advanced for a prescribed time and thereafter, the rod is pulled out and when the heat-energy of the molten iron flowing out from the iron tapping hole reaches a prescribed level, it is judged that the boring of the iron tapping hole is normally completed.
