Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planar lightwave circuit module in which the positional dislocation at a connected part due to thermal variation is relaxed and characteristic variation is eliminated. SOLUTION: The planar lightwave circuit module is provided with planar lightwave circuit substrates 11 and 12 on which an optical waveguide is formed and a mount 14 for fixing the planar lightwave circuit substrates 11 and 12. The planar lightwave circuit substrates 11 and 12 are connected via respective waveguide end faces, and composed of a fixed planar lightwave circuit substrate 11 fixed on the mount 14 and another planar lightwave circuit substrate 12 which is movable on the mount 14. One of PLC-PLC connection substrates is fixed on the mount and the other is loosely supported, thus stress-free is realized and reliability is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
