PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for knitting a stretchable knit fabric having luster, pile feeling and good touch to the skin by using smallest numbers of required guide bars in knitting the stretchable knit fabric using an elastic yarn and a nonelastic yarn. SOLUTION: The knitting method is to insert both a polyurethane yarn and an elastic yarn such as an elastically processed yarn or the like through the same guide point of at least one sheet of guide bar and knit the fabric by regulating the rate of feeding of the both yarns in knitting the stretchable warpknit fabric by warpknitting machine. In addition, at least 2 yarn guide holes through which the elastic yarn and the nonelastic yarn are separately inserted are installed across the longitudinal direction of the guide point on the end of the guide point of the jacquard guide constituting a part of the jacquard guide bar used for the knitting method.
