Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a side opening door device provided at a doorway of a crew's room or the like in an airtight vehicle such as Shinkansen railway. SOLUTION: This side opening door device 100, used for opening and closing an opening section leading to the crew's room or the like, is provided in the body of the airtight vehicle 10. The side opening door device 100, including an inward-opening door 110 supported by a hinge, is opened and closed with a handle. The peripheral edge of the opening of the body mounts an expansive sealing rubber 300 sandwiched by the peripheral edge 112 of the door. When the door 110 is closed and the vehicle passes a revised point or a vehicle speed reaches a predetermined value, an air supply circuit opens, so that the expansive sealing rubber 300 expands to form a seal.
