Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device using a dielectric barrier discharge tube capable of displaying through the use of light emission of a dischargeable gas. SOLUTION: In an enclosure 11 having a discharge space formed inside with a dischargeable gas sealed in the space, a transparent discharge electrode 19 is provided on an outer surface (display surface 13a) of a lid 13 made of transparent glass, and a transparent discharge electrode 20 is provided on an outer surface of a bottom 14 also made of transparent glass. A discharge section 19b of the transparent discharge electrode 19 and a discharge section 20b of the transparent discharge electrode 20 respectively form character strings of the same shape and size, and are located at corresponding positions sandwiching the discharge space having the dischargeable gas sealed therein.
