PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video display device, video display a system, and a video display method that can separate and display main video and sub-video and enable main video and sub-video at a superimposition part to easily and clearly be discriminated even when they are superimposed and displayed. SOLUTION: The video display device, video display system, and video display method are disclosed which can display video by freely superimposing sub-video based upon an on-screen function on main video based upon video data inputted from outside. The video display device 1 has a menu display button 2a for making a choice of whether the sub-video is superimposed and displayed or not displayed and a changeover button 2b for outputting the sub-video to the video display device or the outside, and when superimposition display of the sub-video is selected with the menu display button, the sub-video is outputted to the outside with the changeover button, so that the main video and sub-video can be separated and displayed.
